A loop from my office in Sunnyvale around the Alviso Slough Loop and Mallard Slough Trails. There are actually quite a few places to start the trails from--the easiest being to park at the Alviso Marina Park lot off Hope Street in Alviso. As I did it, the overall length is close to 30 miles, but the alviso slough loop is only about 9, and the mallard slough trail is probably about 5. No trees, so no shade, but it is generally nice and breezy on the levees. The trails are pretty well maintained, of fire road quality or better. Note that the northern half of mallard slough (the easternmost loop in my track) is closed seasonally (October-January) for waterfowl hunting--there are signs posted for this--I would not recommend violating them, no point in getting shot accidentally.
